It is with great sorrow that I inform you of the death of Judy Brown, french horn.
As you may remember, Judy has been in the care of Hosparus for the past few weeks following a stint with chemo for a tumor on her pancreas. Her prognosis was not good and chemo was worse, so Judy elected to halt treatment and let nature take its course. I spoke with her the week before last. She was in good spirits and totally at peace with her decision. We talked about the band and how much it meant to her. The band was her family as much as her sister, nieces, nephews and step family. She was very proud of her time with the Holy Name Band and told me a number of times how much she enjoyed the music and the people in the band.
Judy passed away Friday, October 26, 2018.
A memorial Service to celebrate Judy’s life was held today.
A private burial was held at Cave Hill Cemetery.
At Judy’s request, a memorial gift will be made to Hosparus Health Louisville from the band in her honor.
